Next week, the fifth grade will be taking a field trip to UCLA for the Gamelan Cudamani Performance. Field trip permission slips went out and need to be returned ASAP, since we need to submit lunch order confirmations and cross check with allergies before a bagged lunch menu is finalized. Please note that the bus will leave promptly at 8:15am. Your child needs to be here no later than 8:05am, so that we can take attendance and load everyone on before 8:15am. If your child arrives later than 8:15am, they will have work to complete in another classroom.

ELA: Word Study Due: 10/27

*Be sure to write one definition for each work found from a dictionary, even if you know what it means. This is a great opportunity to find out the multiple meanings of words and write one that people may not know to share in class tomorrow.

Math: HW#23 Due: 10/27

Today we talked about algebraic equations and order of operations. We made connections to all the algebraic thinking we have been doing since kindergarten!

Science: No HW...but our experiment was exciting today and connected with algebra in math-variables. Rachel and Sandra are pretty sneaky!!! Share with your parents what you learned today about butter.

Social Studies: Your "boss" Lorena suggests that you can continue to work towards the completion of your advertising campaign for the State Tourist Board which will be due on her desk by the end of the day on Tuesday, November 2. You will have two more class periods but may need additional time to turn in your BEST work!
